Skills Overview

There are 16 combat skills divided into primary and secondaries.

6 Primary Skills

Primary skills are the player’s main source of damage and include:

  • Melee

  • Defense

  • Ranged

  • Divine (Arcane)

  • Chaos (Arcane)

  • Blood (Arcane)

When addressing primary skills more broadly, they are often categorized by casting versus non-casting.

Melee, defense, and ranged are all non-casting skills that implore styles as their form of attack, while arcane skills are considered casting skills that utilize spells when attacking.

8 Secondary Skills

Secondary skills, which include elemental callings and invocations, assist in combat through buffs, crowd control, and supplementary damage. These include:

4 Elemental Calling Secondaries

  • Water Weaving

  • Wind Warping

  • Stone Shifting

  • Flame Foraging, and

4 Invocation Secondaries

  • Worship

  • Mantra

  • Incantation

  • Necromancy

Lastly, the two advanced channeling skills, ni and ethereal, are unlocked in late-game gameplay and will not be covered here.

Attack Sequence

The four-attack-per-turn sequence alternates between two primary attacks and two secondary attacks. The following sections provide more information on the attack sequence.
