Marketplace

ANiMA has two player-owned marketplaces: the Grand Exchange and the Night Market.

Players own all in-game assets, and the data associated with creating and destroying items is secured by Arbitum Orbit technology. Arbitrum is a global and trusted leader in scalable and public distributed ledger technology, and its ecosystem is secured by over $10 billion worth of assets.

All players with an ANiMA account can freely browse the marketplaces. If they choose to participate in these markets, they must go through a quick secondary verification process by linking two other accounts via Oauth connections. This is essential for limiting bots and keeping the marketplace fair for players.

All in-game items are denominated and listed in USD, and both marketplaces rely on player listings to function. The studio does not hold any in-game items, and there is no in-game currency.

Players can top off their USD balance or transfer it to a bank account via Coinbase after completing a quick Know Your Customer (KYC) process, which is required by law.

All of these processes take place directly within the game environment.

Grand Exchange

Players can trade all in-game items except for bind-on-pickups and cosmetics on the Grand Exchange.

The exchange functions similarly to any other in-game marketplace. Users can filter through items, list them via a timed auction or buyout price (or both), and purchase full item stacks or individual units.

There are no first-time sales on the Grand Exchange, i.e., studio-to-player purchases. All items available at any given time are listed solely by other players, and all trades are player-to-player.

Night Market

The Night Market, on the other hand, is dedicated to all non-armor items, namely cosmetics.

Cosmetics are either created by players or bought directly from the studio within the Night Market store, i.e., first-time sales. Once the player owns any cosmetic, they are free to list and sell it as they please.

Monetization

This system charges a fee on all secondary transactions (e.g., player-to-player), effectively aligning our interests, as the development studio, with the interests of our players. In other words, when you make money, so do we.

Further, this system allows us to stay true to our mission of combating the dilutive monetization tactics that have plagued the gaming industry for years. ANiMA is and always will remain free to play. Moreover, we will never force intrusive adverts on you, implement Gatcha or loot boxes, or monetize via blatant play-to-win cash grabs.

In addition to the studio collecting a fee on all transactions, a smaller 1% is also tacked on. The revenue this 1% fee generates will go directly into the Player's Fund, which funds player-voted activations once a quarter.
