All players with an ANiMA account can freely browse the marketplaces. If they choose to participate, they must go through a quick secondary verification process by linking two other accounts via Oauth connections (e.g., gmail, apple id). This is essential for limiting bots and keeping the marketplace fair for players.
Players own all in-game assets, and the data associated with creating and destroying items is secured by Arbitum Orbit technology. Arbitrum is a trusted leader in public p2p infrastructure, and its ecosystem is secured by over $10 billion worth of assets.
All in-game items are listed in USD(C), and both marketplaces rely on peer-to-peer transactions to function. In other words, the studio does not hold or sell any in-game items, and there is no in-game currency.
Players can trade all in-game items except for bind-on-pickups and cosmetics on the Grand Exchange.
The exchange functions similarly to any other in-game marketplace. Users can filter through items, list them via a timed auction or buyout price (or both), and purchase full item stacks or individual units.
The studio does not sell anything on the Grand Exchange. All items available at any given time are listed by other players, and all trades are player-to-player.
The Night Market, on the other hand, is dedicated to all non-armor items, namely cosmetics, which have no significance in gameplay.
Cosmetics are either created by players or bought from the studio within the Night Market. Once the player owns any cosmetic, they are free to list and sell it as they please.
This system charges a fee on all secondary transactions (e.g., player-to-player), effectively aligning our interests with yours. In other words, when you make money, so do we.
More importantly, this allows ANiMA to remain free-to-play.
Most importantly, this allows the game to keep its integrity, i.e., no intrusive ads, Gatcha, XP boosts or play-to-win tactics.
Even better, players receive a 1% "crafters fee" on items crafted then sold. This occurs in perpetuity, so long as the item remains in circulation, i.e., it is neither lost nor destroyed.
