Resources & Drops

Aside from farming, raw materials and resources come from training gathering skills in any of Zienna’s 14 regions. Drops are dictated by regional drop tables and modifiers, with each region having a specific list of resources you can find while skilling there.

Let’s look at the basic logging gameplay loop as an example.

First, you must navigate to your desired region. Once there, you'll choose to go logging in the region's wilderness. Without selecting specific trees, your character will begin exploring the region. As you encounter trees, you'll automatically start cutting them down. This mechanic introduces an element of randomness that results in various resources gathered.

The items you can receive in each region are limited only by that skill's respective level.

For instance, a level 3 logger in Pyr may acquire cedar logs, bamboo shafts, and specialty items from each gather, but not willow logs, which require level 4 logging.

So, per the regional drop table below, a level 3 logger has a 35% chance of receiving cedar logs, 25% for bamboo shafts, 4% for sap, 1% for ancient fragments, and 0% for willow logs.

In addition to the regional drop tables, modifiers also play a part in the loot you'll receive.

  • Mastery increases the flat drop rate of specific items across regions.

  • Skill level determines which items can be gathered while

  • Better tools reduce the time each gather takes.

Modifiers allow players to strategize, specialize, and outmaneuver their peers. More information on each of these modifiers can be found in their respective sections.
