Sub-Skills

Sub-skills are "mini-skills" that complement core skilling by adding variety and creating cross-skill dependencies.

In addition to composting, there are a handful of other sub-skills in ANiMA.

These include, but are not limited to:

Firemaking

Firemaking is an optional semi-idle sub-skill used when training cooking and apothecary. It lets you manage the heat of their fire by periodically checking in on it to rearrange or add logs as needed, increasing the chances of a successful cook or brew.

The choice of log used also plays a role, as certain logs possess magical properties that benefit their primary skill, such as sentinel logs for apothecary and cedar logs for cooking.

Gem Cutting

Uncut gems are discovered randomly while mining and are extracted with a quality rating of 1-10. They are then cut in crafting, resulting in a final cut rarity rating of 1-5. This system gives you more control over the quality of gems gained by providing two separate points of influence via mastery.

Gems become increasingly important and valuable as the game progresses.

There are 11 types of gems in ANiMA.

Geofusion

Geofusion involves fusing gem powders with cut gems using maganess, a source stone found in mining. The arcane properties of maganess allow gem powder to penetrate the cut gem, resulting in one of the five prismatic jewels.

Players can then socket these jewels into select armor through anima fusion in alchemy.

Prismatic jewels are the only items in ANiMA that can be socketed into armor.

Baiting

Using bait, such as shrimp, to catch larger fish, or small critters, such as luminites, to entice rare animals while hunting can increase your chances of success and decrease the time spent on each action.
